Using the Commission Overrides Metric

The Commission Overrides metric displays information about commission overrides: changes made in commission amounts or percentages.

Setting up the Commission Overrides metric:

  1. Click Employee in the Display Items section of the Sidebar Menu.
  2. Drag and drop Commission Overrides onto the Dashboard.
  3. Hover the cursor over the Commission Overrides metric title to display the drop-down menu.
  4. Click Configure Options.
  5. Select a club to display. This metric only allows you to display one club at a time.
  6. Select a date range to display.
  7. Select a View. See Commission Overrides Views.
  8. Click OK.

Choosing the right View for this metric:

  • Sales Detail: Best for listing individual overrides by employee and date of the revision for sales commissions. This is the default view.
  • Sales Summary: Best for identifying the number of sales commission overrides and net amount change for each, performed by each revision employee.
  • Event Detail: Best for listing individual overrides by employee and date of the revision for event commissions.
  • Event Summary: Best for identifying the number of event commission overrides and net amount change for each, performed by each revision employee.

Identifying Commission Overrides history

The overrides that appear in this metric are only the differences between the most recent override and the last override.

For example: If Adam earns a 10% commission on a $100 sale, he would ordinarily have a $10 commission. If the commission rate for this transaction is changed to 15%, obviously the new commission value would be $15. At this point the commission override change will display as $5.
If the commission is changed again to 12%, he will receive $12. The commission override change will now display as $7 - the change from the most recent override, not the change from the original commission.

  2. Click Sales Commissions.
  3. The Sales Commission page will open, displaying the current week. If necessary, change the date range using the From and To text fields in the Transaction Date box.
  4. The transactions that have had multiple overrides performed will show the View link in the History column.
  5. Click View next to the transaction you want to display.
  6. The Sales Commission History for this transaction will open, displaying the date and time of each override, the commission, split percentage, amount, and revision employee.

  7. From this page, you can also change the sales commissions. See: Sales Commissions.
  8. Click Close to return to the Dashboard.

To see the history of event commission overrides for a single transaction:

  1. Click the More button in the bottom right of the panel to open the More Information menu.
  2. Click Employee Commission Overrides.
  3. You (the employee currently logged into DataTrak) will automatically be selected as the Employee in the Event Commissions page.
If necessary, change the employee by clicking the search button and selecting a new employee.
This is the employee who has received the commission, not necessarily the employee who performed a revision.
  4. The history of each commission override is listed for the employee.
Click the underlined Commission at the top of the list to edit it. This is the most recent commission override.
  5. Click Close to return to the Dashboard.
